Lagos Life Simulator: What It Is and How to Play It Free

“Lagos Life simulator” is what a lot of people call the Lagos Life game — a free, multiplayer life-simulation game set in Lagos, Nigeria, that runs in your browser. There is no separate product by that name and nothing to download. This page explains what the game actually simulates and how to start playing.

Short answer: it is a browser life sim, free, for players 18+, set in one shared Nigeria with real players. No app, no download, no separate account for Abuja or Port Harcourt.

What the “Lagos Life simulator” actually is

Lagos Life is a Sims-style life simulation: you create a character (a Sim), keep their needs alive, earn naira, learn skills, get a career, rent a home, furnish it, build relationships and live out a life in a city. What makes it different from a single-player life sim is that the city is shared — the other Sims walking around Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt belong to real players.

Is it like The Sims?

Same genre, different game. The loop will feel familiar, and the differences matter more for how you play:

Is there a Lagos Life app or download?

No. We checked on 8 October 2026: there is no Lagos Life on the App Store, Google Play, Steam or Roblox, and no APK from the developer. It is a browser game — search for the app and this is what you get.

How the simulation works

Under the hood the game is a set of numbers that fall, fill and compound. These are the game's own values, read from its code on 8 October 2026.

Six needs, always falling

Every Sim has six needs that drain on their own. They are what your whole day is built around — a hungry, filthy, exhausted Sim works badly and earns less:

NeedDrops
🍛 Hunger5.5 per in-game hour
⚡ Energy4 per in-game hour
🎉 Fun4.5 per in-game hour
💬 Social3 per in-game hour
🫧 Hygiene3.5 per in-game hour
🚽 Bladder7 per in-game hour

Rates are points per in-game hour before your Sim's traits, which can slow them down (and some rewards cut them further, such as Iron Belle −25% hunger and Steel Bladder −30% bladder).

Nine skills, and what they unlock

Skills rise as you do activities that train them, and they gate promotions and some jobs: Cooking, Charisma, Fitness, Coding, Music, Hustle, Dance, Comedy, Photography. Promotion levels in a career are checked against that career's own skill — see the jobs and salaries table.

Money, rent and the weekly rhythm

You earn naira from shifts, side gigs, businesses and land. The fixed rhythm is rent every Saturday, and LAPO Babies add a weekly ₦12,000 loan repayment on top. Fall behind and the game moves you somewhere cheaper. The make money guide covers gigs, businesses, land and the haulage trailer with payback numbers.

One game, three cities

The world is Lagos plus the two cities added in the October 2026 expansion, Abuja (AbujaLife) and Port Harcourt (PHLife). You choose which one to start in when you pick your first home, and you can travel between them later in-game — flights from the airport, choppers, private jets, buses or your own car — but your home does not come with you. There are 132 places between the three cities in our extraction (31 Lagos, 69 Abuja, 32 Port Harcourt), each with its own opening hours and activities.

How to start playing

  1. Open the game at lagoslife.app and sign up free: your Sim's name, a username (3–20 letters, numbers or underscores) and a password of at least 8 characters. An email is optional and also lets you log in with it. Write your password down — recovery is question-based now, and a brand-new account that has not played enough cannot use it yet.
  2. Build your Sim: look, two personality traits, a lifetime dream, then the birth lottery and your first home.
  3. Get a job on your in-game phone, work your shifts, and keep Saturday's rent aside.

Lagos Life simulator FAQ

Is Lagos Life a simulator?

Yes — it is a life-simulation game, and the game's own description is “a Sims-style life game set in Lagos”. There is no separate product called “Lagos Life Simulator”: people use the word because the game simulates a life rather than asking you to race or shoot. The game itself is at lagoslife.app.

Can I download Lagos Life?

No download is needed and there is no App Store, Google Play, Steam or Roblox version (checked 8 October 2026). Lagos Life runs in Safari or Chrome. If you want an app-style icon, add it to your home screen — that is the official way to get it on a phone.

Is Lagos Life the same as The Sims?

They are different games that share a genre. Lagos Life has the same loop — needs, skills, jobs, homes, furniture and relationships — but it runs in a browser, in one shared city with other real players, and it is set in Nigeria, so the money is naira and the world is danfo, NEPA, amala and Quilox.

Is Lagos Life free?

Yes. Signing up and playing cost nothing. There is an optional wallet top-up that buys in-game naira, and the game's Terms say in-game naira can't be cashed out.

How many places and careers does the game have?

Our extractions count 132 places across the three cities — 31 in Lagos, 69 in Abuja and 32 in Port Harcourt — with hundreds of activities between them. Careers run five levels each, from first-day pay to the top of the ladder. See the Lagos places guide and the Abuja guide.
