How to Play Lagos Life: Game Link, Sign Up, Controls & Home Screen
How to play Lagos Life from zero: where the real link is, how sign-up and the 18+ check work, how to add the game to your phone's home screen (there's no store app), and what to do in your first week.
Play Lagos Life at lagoslife.app →Step 1: Open the game in your browser
Lagos Life is a browser game. It currently loads at lagoslife.app, the address the game's own pages and in-game messages use, and also at lagoslife.eliysites.com, the address the developer has shared on X. Open either one on your phone or computer. You don't need Roblox, Steam or a store app.
Step 2: Create your account (18+ only)
- Username: 3 to 20 letters, numbers or underscores, with no spaces.
- Password: at least 6 characters.
- Email (optional but important): it's only used to reset your password. Without an email, a lost password can't be recovered by email, and the game tells those players to DM @Shalom_HeyEliy on X with their username.
- Age check: tick the box to confirm you're 18+ and agree to the Terms. Under-18s are logged out.
Sign-up is free. Everyone plays in the same shared Lagos, so the people you meet at venues can be real players.
Forgot your password? Use "Forgot password?" on the login screen. The reset link works for 1 hour, so check your spam folder too.
Step 3: Create your Sim
Character creation has five steps: Look → Personality → Dream → Birth lottery → Home.
- Look: body, hairstyle, outfit, fabric and skin tone.
- Personality: pick two traits.
- Dream (lifetime wish):
- Oga at the Top: reach the top level of any career.
- Lekki Landlord: build a net worth of ₦1,000,000.
- Afrobeats Star: max out the Music skill (level 10).
- Everybody's Padi: become Paddy Mi (best friends) with 4 people.
- Yaba Unicorn: get your startup funded at CcHub, Yaba.
- Birth lottery: the game decides whether you're a Nepo Baby or a LAPO Baby. It's decided once per account, and starting a new life won't change it. See Nepo Baby vs LAPO Baby.
- Home: LAPO Babies choose Mushin (Face-me-I-face-you) or Yaba (Self-contain). Nepo Babies go straight to a Lekki Phase 1 mini-flat. Rent is paid every Saturday.
Step 4: The basics — oya, make we start
Needs
Your Sim has six needs: hunger, energy, hygiene, bladder, fun and social. If you let them drop, your mood and work suffer. Eat, sleep, bathe, use the toilet, have fun and talk to people. Your Sim can get sick too. Mild sickness can be treated with drugs from the chemist or agbo, but if you're very sick you need an injection at General Hospital.
Getting a job
Open your in-game phone, pick a career and tap "Apply — start tomorrow". On work days, a Go to work button appears and your Sim heads to the workplace. Get there on time so your performance doesn't drop. During a shift you can choose how to work (steady, "Work Like Jaguda", gist with colleagues, suck up to Oga, or take am easy) and handle small tasks. Win 4 tasks in a shift for +15% pay. Compare every career on the jobs & salaries page.
Rent, tax and bills
Rent comes out every Saturday morning. If you can't pay, it builds up as debt and Baba Landlord comes knocking. Owe more than two weeks' rent anywhere except Mushin and you get a quit notice and move back to Mushin. Pay tax only kicks in after ₦1,000,000 earned in a week. More on this in the money guide.
Getting around
| Option | Fare | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Trek | Free | Slow, and long walks tire you out |
| Keke | ₦100 + ₦5/km | Three people on the back bench |
| Danfo | ₦100 + ₦5/km | Bus; bring your change |
| Okada | ₦150 + ₦8/km | Fast through traffic |
| Cab | ₦300 + ₦15/km | AC and comfort |
| Your car | Fuel only | Once you own one (Nepo Babies start with Daddy's Prado) |
Random events can change this. A fuel scarcity day raises transport fares by 50%, and the governor's Transport subsidy policy halves danfo and keke fares.
Other things to do
- Venues: 21 places across Lagos, each with opening hours and its own activities. Examples include Amala Shitta (Surulere), Balogun Market (Lagos Island), CcHub (Yaba), Elegushi Beach (Lekki), New Afrika Shrine (Ikeja), Quilox (Victoria Island) and General Hospital (Ikeja).
- Daily gem hunt: follow the daily clue to find the hidden gem for a cash prize. A new gem appears each day.
- Governor election: each week players vote at Polling Unit 001. Running costs a ₦50,000 campaign fee, and the winner, decided by most votes at Sunday 8 PM, picks a city-wide policy and gets ₦25,000 a day.
- Relationships: chat, make friends (Padi, then Paddy Mi), date, get engaged, marry and have a baby, or break up.
- Your house: use Buy mode to furnish it. Some furniture needs electricity, and NEPA does take light.

Add Lagos Life to your home screen (no app store needed)
There's no Lagos Life app in the App Store or Google Play, and you don't need one. The game is a web app, so you can install it from the browser. It then opens full screen with its own icon.
iPhone / iPad (Safari)
- Open lagoslife.app in Safari.
- Tap the Share button (square with an arrow) at the bottom or top of Safari.
- Scroll and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add. Lagos Life gets its own icon.
On iPhone, the game says you need to add it to the Home Screen first before you can turn on notifications for friends' messages and governor announcements.
Android (Chrome)
- Open lagoslife.app in Chrome.
- If the game shows an Install Lagos Life button, tap it and confirm.
- If not, tap Chrome's ⋮ menu and choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
Account tips
- Signed up twice? The game can bring your first account's life over if you type that account's password.
- Lost progress? The game keeps a saved copy and may offer to restore your latest saved game.
- "Reconnecting to Lagos…" means you lost connection. Wait, or reload the page.
- One person, one account. The Terms ban extra accounts used to vote more than once.
New player tips
- Add an email on day one so you never lose your account.
- Keep rent money aside before Saturday. Debt builds up, and outside Mushin it can get you evicted.
- Pick a job that fits your skills and schedule. Promotions need 100% performance plus a skill level, so practise the career's skill.
- Don't leave shifts early. Pay is cut if you don't finish the shift.
- Look after your needs before work. A hungry, tired Sim works badly.
- LAPO Babies: keep ₦12,000 ready every week for the loan repayment.
- Skip the "get rich quick" stuff. Steady shifts plus a small business beat luck. See how to make money.
